What game are you playing/looking towards?

Once Cross Tag Battle comes out I'll definitely be down to play that with you. I'm down to play basically any fighting game with anyone.

A bit late, okay, way late, but Gundam Breaker is really enjoyable to me. There are so many options for weapons alone. The combat is fun and simple, it probably less fluid and grounded compared to Gundam Vs, but you can use all your moves/weapons really simply as a exchange. Customization is very fun, with color schemes and insignia from the various shows and the abilities to make your gundam look weathered like a old Zaku I or shinny like the Banshee Norn. Also, pretty much every weapon you've seen is usable(like the Rozen Zulu's claws and shield). Story in 3 was also pretty nice, basically "you"(no avatar) join this girl to form a team for Gundam Build Fighter like tournament, with a little twist here and there. Nothing crazy but it is fun. But yeah, spent a lot of time on that.

I saw a video a while back on AI Games (Kizuna Ai gaming). It was a mobile game called Honkai Impact 3rd. Apparently it's been out in English for a while, so I decided to give it a try. Gacha game, but has active gameplay. You have the playable Valkyries, their weapons, and stigmata (soul implants? Kinda like what are seen in Freezing). The Valkyries look nice, the lead girl Kiana seems to have "a lot of respect" for her fellow Valkyrie Mei scratch that, she's outright said a good dream "would have me and Mei getting married". And there's still two other Cleopatra Stigmata, because they come as sets of 3, and you would want to collect the whole set for bonuses. (Though now that I think about it, isn't that against the law in Japan, or does that not count since it's equipment stats rather than gameplay?)

Update: Unfortunately, now I've seen the gacha. And I don't like it. At all. Because some of the things you get from the premium gacha include upgrade materials and treasures you SELL FOR GODDAMN COIN.

For those interested, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle has a free demo. I'm going to give it a shot tonight, see if I can get back into the hang of ASW fighting. It's been a while. >_>
EDIT: Hmm. Apparently it's only for preorderers for now, though it'll be available to the general public after a few days.

I preordered the game so I've gotten a bit of playtime in between work. Been using Tager/Azrael since that's who I figured out at Sakura Con, Tager is probably the most fun he's ever been. 1 Meter Spark Bolt and quarter circle 720s leads to some scummy stuff. Game plays great too, though the damage is super high. I wanna try Noel and Es more for sure, and then maybe the Ruby girls. Also, everyone has a Rwby alt color. Most of them get the main 4 characters but there's a few neat ones (Nu-13 has Penny, Ruby has Jaune, Weiss has Pyrrha). Noel and Makoto get Ren and Nora, which is fun too.

Edit: Some extra thoughts. Played mostly Ruby and Noel today. Ruby is a really good basic character to learn the game, while Noel is super fun. Her drive mechanic fits perfectly in the game and she has her old 2D as 2B now. Tag Burst (Assist+Switch buttons while being hit and with full tag meter) is extremely important to remember, it keeps characters alive much longer.

Ah man, I went and preordered it too, but after trying out the demo, I'm a lot less hyped. As you said, Noel's drive fits perfectly, but that's because her drive was an auto-combo to begin with. But now EVERYTHING is an auto-combo, and it just feels wrong! With Nu, I can't use her old "Standing C" without first connecting a "Standing B." I can no longer make the long-ass aerial combos I was used to back in the day. And so, now I know why Mu-12 is not in the game, and likely never will be- her style is completely incompatible with this goddamn auto-combo system.

While P4A started this whole auto-combo business, it didn't FORCE you to use them. You could still manually perform the exact same combos (in fact, auto-combo did LESS damage than manually doing the same thing). What kind of moron would do this to the game?

I might cancel my pre-order. This isn't BlazBlue. Tweaking movesets to accommodate balancing and tag systems, or creating an optional simplified system for beginners is one thing. Literally forcing most of a characters moveset into auto-combo that veterans don't have a choice on is bullshit. I can't play this.

It is absolutely different from normal Blazblue, agreed there. The actual comboing in this game comes from assist usage more than anything. The Blazblue characters especially are a Frankenstein of their old movesets but I actually find that kind of neat. In terms of gameplay I'd definitely call this more a sequel to Persona 4 Arena than Blazblue. And honestly after seeing what they did with Tager (multiple normals are old specials) I could see them putting Mu in. Might be better to give the game a chance with Ruby and Weiss, since they are designed for the game systems and feel a lot more natural. I was having the problems with Es that you are with Nu.

I've been having a lot of fun with the game, but if you want some more legit Blazblue then Central Fiction regularly drops below 20 dollars. I know you passed on it because no dub but that game is some of the most fun Blazblue out there.

It's either Central Fiction w/o English, or go as far back as ChronoPhantasma EXTEND. But either way, I'll bet most of the playerbase will be leaving those next month for this.

Good games DoubleEdged. Also I don't think I saw you use them so you probably don't know, but Noel's high and low options during her drive are on C in this. Those with assist helping makes her super scary.

Perhaps the aerial combo stuff isn't as bad as I thought, but it still gives me no comfort seeing all of the stuff I worked hard to learn relegated to "press button multiple times when hitting opponent."

Nah, Noel still functions as "Press button to start the chain, but then every button does something". You can also cancel any drive move into any special, and you can cancel the drive attack where she shops slightly into the air into her air super. I'm still figuring her out myself, Noel having a DP that I can do whenever I want is super weird.

I've gone ahead and cancelled the preorder.
I'm still around for tonight and most of tomorrow if you want to go another round on the demo.

... I might pick up CF next time it gets a sale on PSN.

Yeah, the beta has convinced me not to buy BBCTB. They removed Waldstein's Sturmangriff and I don't really care about the characters on the roster. The point of a crossover is to play as your favorite characters and my favorites aren't even in the game, yet. Also, I really like the modified survival mode that ArcSys has been putting out, especially Golden Arena mode in P4AU and Abyss Mode in BlazBlue, and it seems like the survival mode for this game was just put in as an afterthought.

As someone who has bought every version of BlazBlue since the first game, this really hurts me to say, but I will be skipping BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. The game just isn't for me, at least for now.

The game has an option for English text and I got it to work on my Mac using Wine with no problems, so I think it is going to be the first ever H game that I will be preordering.

Also, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon comes out on the 24th, and it is only 10 bucks, so I will probably be buying that, too.

It's a real pity that if you want good femdom content from japan it's usually tied to shota...  That being said, that artist has a gift and does pick some great girls/villainesses/monstergirls

Word is going around that Asuka and Yumi (Senran Kagura) were leaked as being future characters for Cross Tag Battle. Goddammit, why did they ruin such potential with shitty forced combo automation?

Okay, I'm not much of a fan of Yumi either, but she didn't steal Asuka away from Homura at all. She just suddenly became either the most popular character or Takaki's favorite, that now we have to question whether Asuka or Yumi is the true "Good Shinobi Heroine."
And of course, if the leak is true, it could lead to Homura and Miyabi down the line...

Yumi is irrationally popular in Japan, to the point where no one else can even compare. That's why she gets such special treatment, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

She fits that "traditional" demure soft spoken wife type that some of the japanese are crazy about. That and 11 of the 14 official art pieces that deal with all the leaders have Yumi next to Asuka instead of Homura...

So I just learned that there's a Unity remake of Castlevania Harmony of Despair floating around on PC, which is awesome since I really never got to experience the game. It doesn't seem like everything is in it yet, though there's a new stage made out of Order of Ecclesia assets along with playable Albus and Old Axe Armor. I'm still trying to figure the game out but I'm excited since it runs fine on my busted half dead PC.

Let me guess, nothing with CotM Carmilla yet, right?

I've only tried the first stage so far, but if she wasn't in the actual Harmony of Despair then no. The OoE stage is the only new one so far. Been playing a bit more and while it's definitely janky (it is still in alpha), I'm enjoying it.

Curse(not circle) of the Moon will be out soon, Little Witch Academia game is out on digital, and Dragon's Crown Pro is also out, I have two of those, just need to make the time to play them.
