World of Monsters CYOA (Part II)

"My lady, let's make a run for it while the monster isn't looking." Artoria suggested to Elphelt quietly, and the bride nodded. When the Shade was moving down the hall to the north the two quickly went the opposite direction to the south, soon reaching a small room. It was a rather nice if cramped place, with a beautiful treasure chest at one of the walls and a painting of a beautiful woman with flowing black hair and a silver visor on it directly above the chest.

"I wonder if this is that Oracle lady?" Elphelt wondered, Artoria not looking at the painting as she was focused on making sure the Shade wasn't getting close. Elphelt couldn't really see anything else of note in this room though.

Nepgear and Asia were going down the hallway to the east, making sure to be careful. Nepgear couldn't help but feel like the two of them looked suspicious in their current outfits, but didn't say anything. Soon enough they saw another of those Golems, standing between two doors. It looked like he was guarding them, which meant that whatever was in there must be worth guarding.

Celtica meanwhile wasn't ready to approach the golems quite yet and decided to have a look around. Looking both up and to the sides, she did see something suspicious. The top of the place was rather dark, but high on one of the pillars she could have sworn that she saw the movement of...something. She decided to take a chance, and holding her sword up she fired off a Crusader Wave at one of the pillars. The pillar itself took the attack perfectly well, but the light of the energy fired did just what Celtica wanted. It revealed the Shade that had dug it's claws into the pillar and had been looming above them since they entered.

"You're tricks won't work on me!" Celtica said, the monster jumping down to avoid the attack while a second Shade also jumped down from another pillar. At this moment the golems sprung to life, just like Celtica expected. They were merely playing dead so the Shades could grab her. Now though, all four of them were coming her way.

Team Elphelt/Artoria-
A. Open the chest and take whatever is inside.
B. Try and investigate the room further.
C. Leave the room, go after that Shade.
D. Leave the room and return to the previous hall while the Shade isn't around.
E. Write-In.

Team Nepgear/Asia-
A. Leave the golem alone and head back and east.
B. Leave the golem alone and head back and west.
C. Attack the golem.
D. Write-In.

Team Celtica-
A. Use Lightfall once they all approach to strike all four of them.
B. Try to avoid their attacks and make your way to one of the other parties. (Which one?)
C. Drink the Red Potion and fuse with Durandal to deal with them.
D. Focus on killing the Shades first.
E. Focus on killing the golems first.
F. Write-In.

Pfft... we got Game Over from two Shades with our raid party together, and now just Celtica has to deal with two more Shades and two of those black golems by herself? I really want to avoid using the red potion again right now...

B
C (May as well go Purple Sister mode right now)
A (If she can survive this round with that move, I'd certainly recommend something like B next round)

B, want to see if there are any signs of a trap linked to the chest, and investigate things further.

Guess I'll echo Rainday and DoubleEdged.

"There has to be something more here than just a chest." Elphelt said as she looked around the room, pressing against the wall and floor. "Please be careful." Artoria said while watching the door, afraid she might spring a trap or something. "Oh relax...hmm, maybe if I move the painting..." the pink haired beauty said as she leaned over and started to do just that. Actually, there did seem to be something behind it, was that a crown?

Before Elphelt could get a good look though, the chest below her opened up and the bride found herself quickly grabbed golden tentacles all over. "Lady Elphelt!" Artoria shouted in shock as she took Dainsleif and started stabbing the chest. "Gah, Cel told me about these things but I totally forgot!" Elphelt said as she struggled to get out. Luckily, with an uncharged dark Miracle Slash Artoria ripped through the mimic, shredded it's tentacles apart and caught the woman in her arms.

"My hero~" Elphelt said sweetly and kissed her on the cheek, then noticing something about Artoria. "Are you ok? You're looking a little pale." she asked, Artoria's skin seemed more pale than she remembered it but the knight nodded her head as she set her princess down. "Never felt better my lady. But the Shade may have heard the sounds of that encounter. We need to get ready." she said. Elphelt made sure to grab that lovely silver and gold crown first though.

On the other side of the temple, Asia and Nepgear were getting ready for their own battle. "It'll be dangerous, but we've gotta fight it." Nepgear said and Asia nodded, pulling out the Shadow Sword. "Don't worry, I can fight too." she said. Nepgear felt now would be as good a time as any, and surrounding herself in light transformed into her upgraded form. A lovely advanced red and black bodysuit formed around her, with similarly colored mechanical wings and her visor still there. "Huh, I didn't realize that this form would change because of these clothes too. Now I look even more suspect..." she said to herself.

No time for thinking about that though, they needed to take this golem down! "Let's go!" Nepgear said and the duo charged at the thing. The monster saw them rushing at her and turned to prepare to fight, a fairly large black sword in her own hands. The thing luckily seemed much slower than the Shades, but as it swung down and the two dodged it left a broken section of floor showing that it made up for that in brute force.

Nepgear swung with her blade, the weapon too upgraded by her transformation, striking multiple times before dashing away to avoid a horizontal swing. "INTRUDERS." the golem roared out, running forward to try and grab Asia. She attempted to avoid but the monster plowed through the hall and managed to scoop her up. "Please miss monster, don't hurt me!" Asia cried out, fake pleading. It kept the thing distracted long enough for Nepgear to land some slashes to it's back, but her attacks were only doing so much. When the golem turned around to look at her though Asia pulled out the Obsidian Sword and stabbed at it's arm. It didn't do much, but it did make the thing drop her.

"This monster's really durable!" Asia said, something Nepgear had become well aware of. "We just need to wear it down!"

Celtica was facing her own challenge as well with four different monsters coming at her all at once. This was a good time to strike them all though, and with her sword raised up she cast Lightfall to surround both herself and her surroundings with light from above. The jumping Shades couldn't move out of the way in time and all four monsters were struck by the shining power. The two golems were forced back and seemed disoriented, while the two Shades fell to the ground and were having trouble forming themselves together again as their bodies seemed to be destabilizing.

"You aren't so tough once I hit you with Durandal's light." Celtica said. She then noticed that the golems were getting up though, so she needed to hurry.


Team Elphelt/Artoria-
A. Stand your ground and fight within the room.
B. Try to make a run for it to the main area before the Shade reaches you.
C. Charge at the Shade.
D. Have Artoria charge forward while Elphelt attacks from afar.
E. Write-In.

Team Nepgear/Asia-
A. Keep on attacking to wear it down.
B. Look for a weak point in the golem.
C. Break into those rooms, take what's inside and then go while avoiding attacks.
D. Flee to the main area.
E. Write-In.

Team Celtica-
A. Kill the Shades while they are down.
B. Fight the golems, the Shades can't do anything.
C. Flee to the east.
D. Flee to the west.
E. Write-In.

Elphelt's inventory has been updated with the item she found. Just a reminder, since usually new items go into Celtica's inventory instead.

Hmmmmmm... A is a good CHANCE! option, but as long as they don't recover we might want to go help Asia and Nep, so C

No, she got the golem to drop her by using the Obsidian Sword.

Oh, cool then. I was thinking they should just grab stuff and run, but if Cel will be charging down, finding the weak point should be a boon in the fights versus the others too.

I'll third this. Seems sound.

Elphelt decided she didn't want to get attacked again, and thus they would be the attackers this time. "Artoria, your princess commands you to get out there and take that Shade down!" she decreed, and the young knight nodded. "Yes, my lady!" she said as she pulled out Caliburn to replace Dainsleif. If these were creatures of darkness, then a sword of light would be her best bet to fight one. With that she charged out, Elphelt trailing a bit behind with her guns at the ready.

Dashing the opposite direction within the hallway was the Shade they saw, clearly noticing that something was wrong from the previous noises. The hallways didn't have too much room to dodge, which was great and troublesome for both Artoria and the Shade. The dark being however didn't have Elphelt on backup and even before the two got to each other Elphelt was firing off rounds. Those shots kept it's movement manageable and Artoria used that to land multiple hits from her blade.

Even struck by holy power the Shade wasn't ready to give up and with a scream it continued attacking, it's shifting arm turning large and smacking Artoria. It then used pushed itself off the ground using the thing to jump at Artoria and strike again, but the knight was ready. "Radiant Lion!" she shouted, firing off a beam of light at the airborne monster to tear a large hole through it's chest. The monster fell to the ground, it's mask shattered and the darkness faded. "Excellent work, I expect nothing less from my knight." Elphelt said, the words of praise making Artoria happy.

Meanwhile, back within Durros, Bullet's brownish face was looking scarlet. "Do I really have to be the one to wear this?" she asked in an embarrassed tone. "You're the only one whose body fits it." the shopkeeper said. "You call this fitting!?" the brawler asked angrily. At the moment she was wearing a somewhat revealing pink and white heart themed outfit with nice stockings, a frilly dress top, a cute pink hat and a tiny miniskirt with hearts on it. "I don't know Bullet, I think it fits you perfahahaha!" Lina tried to say with a straight face before bursting into laughter.

"You damn flat chested witch..." the flustered Bullet said as the shop owner was measuring things on her and touching places the woman really wished she wouldn't. But they needed money and this was far less seedy than some other jobs. Lina meanwhile was sporting a lovely and also revealing black and orange witch outfit with a very nice large hat. As it turned out however, it didn't quite fit her well enough in a certain chest area. "You better be talking to some other witch in this room!" Lina shouted angrily. The shop keeper wondered if they were going to keep this up the entire time...

While Asia wasn't the strongest fighter, Negpear in her Purple Sister form was rather tough and even her attacks were effectively only scratching the monster. "This monster has to have a weakness somewhere." Asia said. She thought about trying the Dominance Ring but she just didn't believe in her ability to seal such a strong monster. "Think Nepgear, what about this monster could be it's weakness..." Nepgear said to herself as she backed up in the air to avoid a swing.

Looking her over, there was one place that looked different from the rest of her body. "It's worth a try!" Nepgear said and with a shout she rushed in to deliver an uppercut targeting the golem's face. Though the golem was ready to attack and slammed her with it's own blade, the attack did connect and the monster's face partly cracked. Nepgear smashed into a wall with a grunt of pain, though Asia was right there with Twilight Healing. "The white part of her is vulnerable. Her face or her neck, if we can decapitate her then I think we can win." Nepgear said as she got up.

"Sounds like a plan to me!" a familiar voice said, Celtica appearing from the hallway they had come through previously. With all four of her enemies unable to attack her she took the moment to flee and join up with the two. "My sword isn't really fit for precision stuff like decapitation, but I've learned these things are also weak to light magic." Celtica explained, though she didn't have time to say much more with the golem coming their way.

Team Elphelt/Artoria-
A. Continue north down the hallway.
B. Go East into the entrance area.
C. Write-In.

Team Celtica/Asia/Nepgear-
A. Have Nepgear try to decapitate the monster while the others break into the rooms.
B. Have Celtica use her holy skills to destroy the golem while the others break into the rooms.
C. Have everyone attack the monster at once.
D. Flee back out to the entrance area.
E. Write-In.

B. Might even come up behind Celtica's pursuers and get the drop on them AGAIN.

Like filling the... missing space in Lina's outfit.

"You two go and look for those items, I think I can handle this when there's only one enemy." Celtica said with a confidant grin as she assumed a battle stance. "Good luck." Nepgear said with a nod as their leader clashed blades with the charging golem. Both Nepgear and Asia ran past the monster. "You're gonna be dealing with me." Celtica said to the golem's partly destroyed face, backing out of the clash only to run in again with a swing.

The other two reached the end of the hallway and got to the two doors, each taking one and with blade ready entering the doors. You couldn't even call these areas rooms, they were more like supply closets with how compact they were. But what they did have were plenty of mana crystals glowing dimly. Asia saw a particularly large diamond shaped one too. "I should grab all of this." she said, Nepgear also picking up as much as she could.

Outside of those rooms Celtica was trading blows with the golem, even her holy sword wasn't completely destroying the thing. "I was hoping to save my energy a little, but it looks like you are going to be a pain." Celtica said, the next time she moved in her blade glowed with an awesome power. "Cross Saver!" she shouted, her first slash connecting with the golems own blade and disarming her, then the second tearing apart her face and even a part of her chest as the monster fell over. in defeat "I think I'll grab this too." she said, picking up the sword. "We found the crystals!" a cheerful Asia said as they regrouped with Celtica.

On Artoria and Elphelt's side, the two had decided to return to the massive open area of the entrance. As they entered they saw more enemies, two Shades and those two golems that had now moved, all of them injured. "But where did Cel go? I hope she's alright..." Elphelt said. It seemed the monsters hadn't noticed them though, the Shades going through the Northeast hallway together while the damaged golems were walking down the Southeast ones.

Team Elphelt/Artoria-
A. Chase After the Shades.
B. Get in the way of the Golems.
C. Try to run past the golems to get to the others.
D. Head down the center hallway.
E. Head down the Northwest hallway.
F. Write-In.

Team Celtica/Asia/Nepgear-
A. Head back out West to the entrance area.
B. Head South.
C. Head North.
D. Write-In.

B and A. Everyone regroups and hopefully takes down those two golems with less effort.

I can agree to that. Nepgear can inform them about the mask weakness which will give Elphelt a great way to chisel them down.

Elphelt wanted to know where Celtica was, but she knew where Nepgear and Asia were and they were in danger of those monsters if something wasn't done. "Let's go." Elphelt said and quickly moving in and landing a running strike with her whip Elphelt and Artoria blocked the path of the golems. "We will stop you!" Artoria told them, Caliburn ready to take down another creature of darkness.

"Y'know, this isn't too bad." Nephenee said as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her outfit was rather strict and tight, but the crimson military uniform looking clothes she had been given did look pretty snappy. And they covered her up well, which as always nice. "I don't care that much about fashion, but I think I like this." she said.

"I think you look cute, and this outfit I've got also looks good on me." Valeria said as she did a twirl at the mirror. "Though I can't help but feel that Elphelt beat me to the punch." she added, looking at the lovely bluish bridal outfit she was wearing with plenty of frills and a veil. "I don't think she would mind that much." Nephenee told her fellow party member.

Celtica and the others had been walking out towards the entrance area, moving slowly since the knight believed those monsters were still out there, but started running once she heard the sounds of clashing blades. "Elph!" Celtica shouted as she ran to her. "Cel!" Elphelt said in a gleefully and pleased tone right back, running over to her friend while Artoria was skidding against the ground from an attack. She was looking kind of injured and Asia instantly moved in to assist.

"Thanks." the young knight said while she got up once more feeling restored. "These monsters are weak in their face and necks. Blast them with light magic or decapitate them." Nepgear informed the two who hadn't yet learned. Artoria believed she could do that. "Just give me an opening." she said, her fellow swordfighters nodding. Celtica moved to combat one of the Shadow Golems, leaving Nepgear and Artoria to strike at the other. Two on one Artoria was having trouble, but one on two they were both able to dash around the monster easily.

"Elph, tell me when you've got a shot!" Celtica said as she traded a few blows with the first golem. They were already partly damaged, a Flare Ring powered sniper rifle could definitely finish it. Elphelt pulled the weapon out, steadied her aim and prepared to fire. "Now!" she shouted, Celtica moving out of the way and Elphelt launching the bullet that destroyed the monster's head in a single blow. "Gotcha!"

The other damaged Golem was struggling to keep up with Purple Sister Nepgear and the youthful knight, who were slashing and dodging, waiting for a good moment. Nepgear moved in to force the monster to clash with her, and though she was struggling a little to keep the clash going it gave Artoria time to get in behind. "Tale this!" she shouted as her blade glowed from a miracle slash and in a quick motion the second of the golems lost their head and collapsed to the ground.

"That's two more monsters down." Celtica said. "Those shadows that were here ran away though." Artoria told her. "Oh, and one of those awful mimics you told me about was here and tried to grab me!" Elphelt said, shuddering at the thought. "Then we'll need to be careful around chests from now on. We got the crystals though, so we just need the silver." Celtica told them.

Ok so not gonna lie, i'm completely lost and disoriented from where we were

To recap, you have seen the Southwest hallway, which led to the room with the mimic and the crown to the south and then a hallway north you didn't take, and then the Southeast hallway, which had the area with the mana crystals to the east. There were also paths north and south from that hallway that weren't taken. Then the other three hallways have not been taken.

Ok i think i have a better idea so yea sticking with D Northwest

F. See if the golem remains have any salvagable material, then head northwest.
