World of Monsters CYOA (Part I)

B. Better rest for now.

Not sure what the party could do about the Corrupted Pure Waters. Maybe take them to someone who can analyze them?

I can't think of a case where killing a brainwashed girl would be the only option, since unlike monster girls brainwashed girls can be saved. I also don't really want this to be that dark, it's supposed to be about sexy bad ends rather than grim bad ends. As for monsters, they would corrupt or enslave before killing (Hence why there is no specific HP stat) so that's also doubtful.

(As I've said, I'm probably thinking way too much into it, with my own biases on serious narratives with that bit of sexiness)

B.

It was still rather early in the day, but the fact was the party was exhausted from dealing with all that. First a legion of goblins, then a powerful Undine, if they met any more monsters while travelling now there was no garuntee that they would actually be able to win. "Nephenee, you have some time to get ready. I think we need some rest after all that." Celtica told her.

"That's probably a good idea. I'll be waiting at my usual post when y'all are ready." the guard told her as she went off. "You know what really sucks? A trip to the hot springs would normally be a great way to get rejuvenated." Lina said with a sigh. Everyone returned to their inn to recover some energy. As they walked, Celtica saw the familiar face of Ingrid walking the opposite direction.

"Oh my, you all look like you've been through a fair bit." she said, Celtica giving her the basic run down. "Sounds like you had a fun time. It might have been rather enjoyable to join you all for that." she said. "You could always come with us. We are going after the Slime Queen after a rest, and we could use all the help we can get." Celtica offered, but Ingrid shook her head. "I'm afraid that I have my own mission at the moment. I'm sure we will meet up eventually though, good luck on your journey." she said before heading off towards the village entrance.

With that, the party got to their rooms and plopped themselves down to rest very quickly. "Wake me in...whenever..." a groggy Lina said as she went to sleep. "I'm gonna grab some food, I'm more hungry than tired." Bullet told them as she left on her own. Asia too sat down and began napping, leaving Celtica and Elphelt to cuddle up in bed.

"Your life certainly is an exciting one Cel. It's not even noon and we've already stopped a powerful elemental from enslaving a village." Elphelt said, slowly nuzzling her face against Celtica's as she spoke. Celtica moved her arm up and gave Elphelt's head some rubbing. "Just part of being an adventurer. And fighting the Monster Queens is going to be significantly tougher." Celtica told her. "That's fine. I know we can do it because you're here, the prettiest and strongest woman around." the sharpshooter said with a big smile. "Well, I think I might have to take silver medal on that prettiest part." Celtica told her as she gave her a quick kiss, filling Elphelt's body with such happiness. This cuddling and talking continued for a little until the tired couple drifted to sleep.

A few hours later everyone was up and ready to go. They all left the inn and met up with Nephenee, who was also ready for her journey after saying goodbye to some of her friends. The only decision left was what path to take.

A. Head down the planned path towards the battlefield.
B. Make a detour towards the goblin fort.

Don't know if everyone wants to detour back to the gobs to loot their place. Personally, I think the party has dealt with them enough to make them a threat no longer. And though the gobs most likely gained their loot from raids, I don't think it's a good idea to kick them further; never know if that'll give them the motivation to royally screw over the party later down the road.

Picking A.

Yeah, let's move on from here. There will be plenty of opportunities to refill our coffers.

I'll be picking B, need to recoup some of the cost for all the equipment we got, and they may have some special treasure that they looted that could prove interesting.  Also we could possibly buy the service of a church or some traveling water goddess*cough* http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/2223760?tags=aqua_%28konosuba%29+official_art *cough* to purify the water. Plus, my curiosity must know what those goblin girls were staring at to get them so entranced...  

Oh yeah, we need to do something about those 4 other rings don't we?

Cue the inevitable giant immature freak-out spaz attack by said water goddess as she falls to the ground on her back before flailing about.  "CELTICA-SAAAANNNNNNN!!!"

Exactly, she's possibly working at a succubus brothel, being forced to do whatever lewd request her client desires!  Or maybe she's been caught by some sadistic mercenary Queen*cough*Jammy https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/286882?tags=jammy *cough* that's mentally molded her into a very powerful Crusader that only desires to be punished by her Queen.

I could see Darkness as being used as both a joke character and a symbol of what Celtica could become, should she fall to a powerful demon or Monster Queen. Sort of a foil that's also filling the role of a Fool.

Really there's so many options for how to use Darkness that it would be a waste to not use her in here at some point~ I'm also pretty fond of the Konosuba cast anyways.

As someone who has kept on suggesting looking out for loot at times, I'm going to have to go against my usual direction and vote A to get back on the trail to our primary target.

No more detours, Celtica had decided. They already spent plenty of time resting for the day, if they continued to dawdle it was highly likely that they would end up stuck away from anywhere safe at night and that was just asking for monsters to prey on them. "Let's go everyone!" Celtica said, and away they went.

Hours passed as the group of six walked, luckily without any monster attacks throughout. They continued along the lovely plains seeing some clouds covering the blue sky within the distance. And soon enough it wasn't even the distance as a nice shade from the clouds cooled their trail. More hours passed and the sun was beginning to set when at last they saw something of interest. Some ruined buildings scattered about, but one decently large fort still standing. As the party approached they saw armored women guarding the place, this must be an outpost of the Knights of Sacrima. Along with them were other women who looked rather dissimilar to knights, likely mercenaries.

"Greetings, I am Celtica! Myself and my group wish to offer our services for fighting the Slime Queen!" the knight shouted, drawing the soldiers attention. "Hold on." a voice said as a woman stepped out to meet them. She didn't look like a knight, more likely one of the mercenaries, with a hooded black coat and some similarly colored undergarments, black gloves and boots, rather pale skin and long black asymmetric twintails. The most stunning feature of hers however was her eyes, both blue but her left eye glowing with a blue flame. She studied the party stoically for a moment and then spoke. "They're fine, let them in."

The fort gates were opened by a pair of knights and the woman walked away. "What was up with her?" Lina wondered, the party going into the fortress. It wasn't particularly nice or clean looking, but it was big and stable enough for use and filled with knights. The only thing to figure out was what to do first now that they were here.

A. Locate the leader of this base.
B. Try and find that blue eyed girl.
C. Go to the armory to ask for weapons and armor.
D. Chat with the knights to find out about the current battle situation.

Well we don't have much cash so as it pains me to say this it might be pointless to go to the armory since we didn't get any loot from the undine... Though I would love to see more sexy outfits, and they have weapons by the sound of it which would really help out... Still that can wait, B, let's find out what's up with our mysterious girl.
Maybe we can find a quick quest for cash later.

Something tells me Black Rock Shooter isn't going to be much of a talker, so let's hear from the other soldiers first. D.

Shame that the party doesn't have anything to use for bartering at the armory, but if others want to check it out just to window shop, I won't stop them. However, I am interested in the other options. We could just as easily get info on the battle from the leader or the flame-eye girl as we could from the guards, and probably a better idea of what to expect, so D is off the table. And I have a feeling that flame-eye is the leader anyway (or if not, then an officer), so I'm going with B as well.

I too think we should talk with the blue-eyed soldier.
So B

With another safe haven found, the girls could relax a bit. Celtica was curious about that blue eyed girl however. "I'm going to go find that woman from before. I'll meet up with everyone later." she said, giving Elphelt a quick goodbye kiss and then heading off. It took until sunset, but Celtica managed to find the girl staring off into the distance just a bit outside the fort.

"Hello again. I must admit, I was rather curious about you. Just who are you?" Celtica asked, causing the woman to turn her head. "Oh, it's you. I'm just a mercenary lending a favor to the knights. Nothing more than that." she said in a stoic and bored tone.

"And that eye? It certainly isn't normal." Celtica said, though she didn't want to seem rude about it. "It's modified. I can see monsters regardless of how they try to disguise themselves." she explained. "I make sure that no monsters try to sneak in."

That did make sense along with being an incredibly useful power. Celtica imagined that the merc got many jobs hunting down mimics and doppelgangers and the like. She was a little curious on how she got that eye, but decided not to ask. "My plan is to slay the Slime Queen. I hope we can cooperate to do so." the knight told her. "And do you have a name?"

"Maybe. Just call me BRS, it's what everyone does. Good luck." the black haired girl said before walking off. "What a mysterious girl. But she felt strong, she'll be a powerful ally in these next fights." Celtica said to herself before returning to the fort as well.

The others had been doing their own information gathering. Bullet learned some about the mercenaries and how they are from the Heroes Guild that she too is a part of. Asia meanwhile found everyone some places to rest. Nephenee learned that the leader of this base is a powerful knight named Signum, while Elphelt had asked a bit about the battle and learned that things had been at a stalemate for days now. Naturally, a stalemate favored the monsters since it gave them more time to convert their enemies.

"I also decided to check the armory. They are giving out some super basic stuff to fight with but nothing that beats our current gear. Apparently they used to have a pretty skilled blacksmith here, but in a battle with the slime forces she went missing." Lina told the party.

"I see. Thank you everyone." Celtica said as she pondered what to do next.

A. Look for Signum.
B. Chat with other knights.
C. Look into the armory yourself.
D. Train Asia.

A hard decision.
I think I will go with A.
Trainig could be done later too I hooe.

A could be a solid choice, but then again we've got a lot of info about what's going on already. Sadly, BRS didn't give us much else to work with other than her abilities and what she's doing there. But I get the feeling we've got a flag with her to get her to join, so that's something. Chatting with the other knights, outside of getting a little more insight into them, probably won't accomplish much. And Elphelt wouldn't be hiding anything from us willfully, so unless something happened in the armory (which is highly unlikely), there's little point in doing C. However, dropping that option for D seems important, and even more so since we're talking about going into an actual battle, not just the skirmishes that we've been dealing with thus far. Asia being able to defend herself with a weapon will mean she won't be vulnerable to an attack focused on her by a few attackers. She already got nabbed by Bullet when she was being used as a puppet by the Undine, so that should be motivation enough for Celtica to train her some more.

If we had more time, I'd go with A. But it's sunset already, so we're short on time before everyone needs to bed. I'm going with D.

B we can hit up the armory next morning if necessary
