World of Monsters CYOA (Part III)

There was no use dawdling around any longer. They had a goal today, to reach Port Natra and find themselves a boat that could take them to the islands. "Alright, let's get a move on. The day won't last forever." Celtica said, waving to the castle's caretakers as they left via the front door. Luckily, it seemed like all of yesterday's fog had cleared. With the sun bright in the sky the team departed.

The path westward led them through some more woods, but that eventually cleared out into mostly open plains. The ocean was even visible. "Wow, we're almost there!" Nepgear said excitedly. "Hey now, we still need to be looking out for monsters." Ayane reminded her. Continuing on even the port itself was visible a ways away. It would probably take another hour or two of walking but things were looking good.

"And what do you think you're doing?" a voice echoed out however as everyone got ready. Moving to block their path was a trio of fairly tall girls in red armor...no, that wasn't quite right. They were coated in what looked like red armor, but on a closer look the armor seemed more organic and natural than metal. The one in front had long spiky red hair coming out from behind her helmet, which had two long strands coming off the top. And they each had large claws in place of hands.

Bullet wasn't sure who they were, but she had an idea. "They look like crabs..." she said, Celtica understanding. She had never heard of a crab monster before, but there were plenty of monsters she didn't know about. "So then, you monsters expect to bully travelers going to the port?" she asked. "Yeah, that's right!" the leader said, the other two laughing behind her.

Celtica shook her head and readied her weapon. "That's a big mistake." she said. She wasn't sure if there was a way to get by peacefully, but did there need to be? They were outnumbered and while they looked dangerous, they were still only normal monsters.

A. Try to talk things out, reason with them.
B. Try to talk things out, intimidate them.
C. Face them, hanging back and testing their armor's strength for now.
D. Face them head on, they won't be able to handle the party all together.
E. Try and divide the trio, then fight them.
F. Write-In.

At this point, I have no problem with intimidation when they're clearly the aggressors.

Shoot wasnt there to suggest the oracle to take look at her.

Celtica wasn't going to take anything from these monsters. "Listen up, we aren't going to be taking any of your bullying. You don't realize it, but you're talking to the people to killed the Slime Queen." she said, a sharp look in her eyes glaring at them. "No way, that's crazy talk!" the leader said. "She looks serious...maybe this was a mistake..." one of her lackeys said.

The boss of the trio shook her head. "There's no way we encountered the Monster Queen Slayer. Just deal with them like normal and grab all their gear!" she said. The other two were hesitating though. "Fine then, I'll show you they aren't any threat." the boss said and started approaching.

This was good, all they needed to do now was land a crushing blow on the leader and the lackeys definitely wouldn't try to jump in to the fight. She wasn't sure if the boss would be intimidated, but if not one monster was nothing to worry about. Assuming they even survived the party's assault on her that is.

"Shall I deal with this monster?" Ayane asked. Celtica had stepped out, but she was still deciding what to do. Might be best to show exactly who these crabs were dealing with using a Dual Tech, but perhaps this armored woman could be good training for the new techniques and gear the party had obtained.

A. Deal with her quickly using a Dual Tech.
B. Use subversive techniques and the shield to try and enslave the monster.
C. Ayane seemed eager, let her have a shot at it alone.
D. Fight normally, testing out people's new skills and weapons.
E. Write-In.

If Ayane wants to become a crab that badly...
Lets go with C.

Just a question: can Arturia still corrupt people/monsters without the Void Armor equipped?

If not, maybe she should put the thing back on...

D, Ayane and Bullet double team action!

Artoria can't corrupt people without the Void Armor, but she does have special attacks for both charming and entrancing enemies.

Personally not a too big fan of her alter version.
Especially her enslaving skills so no problem for me if she can't do it. Though I am probabbly in the minority.

Well it's not like we can't have her put it back on anytime soon.

Besides, no ones looking to add shellfish to the group, so its unneeded atm. Hell, we just got went through the trouble of putting all our servants at the castle

Personally I prefer the girls to be enslaved rather than enslaving, so yeah.

Celtica nodded. "Go right ahead." she said, though as Ayane stepped out to fight the crab woman Bullet too stepped forward. "Hope you don't mind me butting in. I figure I could use the practice." Bullet said, Ayane nodding. "No issues here." she told her companion. The monster seemed annoyed by how non-serious they were taking this. "Gruh, I'm not gonna let you mock me!"

The monster released a blast of foam from one of it's claws out at Ayane, who was able to dodge and move in with a slash from her wind blade. Unfortunately, it did almost nothing to the thick armor and she only barely backdashed away to avoid being grabbed by the monster's other claw. Bullet was rushing in to strike too, her black wolf gauntlets striking against the crimson armor of the crab and pushing her back with a few strong blows.

Despite this, the crab regained her footing and charged forward again to tackle Bullet back. "That armor's really thick..." she said while thinking, Ayane getting behind the crab and using Fubu-Jin to grab her and launch her into the air. "Then we just don't waste time with weak attacks." Ayane said. Bullet heated herself up with Afterburner and the two started moving while the airborne crab woman was launching bursts of foam from the sky down at them.

"Stay still you annoying little humans!" she shouted while continuing to blast at them. The duo was too fast however, and soon she crashed to the ground. "That armor's still holding." Ayane said, looking as their opponent got up. "Then let's strike together. Find a point and start chipping away. I'll land the final blow." Bullet said. Ayane nodded and moved in, almost teleporting past foam bursts with her speed.

The ninja, strengthened by the armored leotard she wore, began a high speed assault of wind slashes on the monster. Dozens of strong slices at once at her chest, then dashing out to avoid a grab or swing. She moved to the back and forced the monster to spin using the wind of the cyclone blade, continued attacking and then once the monster was dizzied from her wind and movement skills she vanished to show Bullet running right up surrounded by a blazing aura.

The brawler slammed her foot on the ground, moved in for a punch and then released it all using Explode: Engage to send her stored energy out in a powerful point blank explosion. The vermilion armor, cut and chipped away in the center by Ayane's attacks, exploded and shattered as the girl was sent flying. "Excellent work." Celtica said, looking at the two other crabs fleeing after seeing the attack. Ayane seemed especially pleased with the praise.

"So, this is you without all that armor to protect you." Bullet said, walking over and looking at the defeated victim. With the armor shattered it revealed her form of a slender pale skinned woman that looked extremely soft, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry for what I did! I just wanted some stuff, that's all! Please don't hurt me, I'll do anything for you!" she begged. It seemed that without her protection all her confidence had been completely wiped out.

Ayane turned to Celtica. "So, what should we do with her? I bet even Asia could finish her off in this state." the shinobi said. Best to still keep their guards up, this could still all be an act. But she could be useful to the party in a number of ways.

A. Finish her off.
B. Force her to give them the gear she's stolen from travelers.
C. Ask her for information about the area and the port.
D. Enslave her with Holy Sigil and send her to the castle for training.
E. Write-In.
