Damn, you seem to be having much better luck than me, with two 4*-base units drawn so close to each other.

We'll see if that changes this weekend with the Players' Choice banner.

EDIT: Just made a draw today, and got a nice character... that unfortunately makes Celes completely obsolete. Vaan (Never liked the character, personally. )

I sold TWO Superior Blades some time ago... I'm kinda pissed about that now, since just one takes long enough to build, but you need three for the new weapon, Shining Splendor.

It'll definitely be a weapon worth getting though. It won't be better for your Fencer (unless you have Zidane's Dual Wield to give her), but who knows, you might end up getting Luneth at some point, and you'll really want two good Swords then, as he gets a natural boost to ATK for using Swords along with his natural Dual Wield. But seriously, it's the second-strongest free weapon. It's worth getting. Not sure if I'll have enough time to farm up 160 of the unique ore from the event before it ends to try for two.

Lands of Plenty PRO needs a REAL party! Max level, best gear, etc. I know you've been getting some good characters Rosssi, so hopefully you should be good if you have some awesome guys on your friend list (not talking myself, I'm talking BETTER).

That trio of boss fights one after the other will really wear you out. Make sure you take tents with you, you'll definitely want to use one after the second boss (who you don't get a warning for when it attacks you). The good news- you're VERY likely to get more than ten Cavern Ore per run if you get every node. I'm definitely going to shoot for 160 Cavern Ore to make two swords, though you can easily get enough for much more than two, but I don't know how long Shining Splendor will hold out for me, as my Kains get ever closer to giving me Gungnir.

Also, Charm Bangle on your healer and Escape on someone will definitely make your runs a lot less tedious.

All that said, I think it has been one of my favourite challenges in the game so far, challenging bosses who require planning and strategy and can't just be smashed with the usual tactics, always the most memorable part of a game. And it should shake up the current physical domination teams a bit..
Loving your Kefka, he is a big help on these runs with Hyperdrive and escape.


Future runs went better with Shadowstick, full break and a Wizardly friend (although I learned to check stats before I head out, too many ex-deaths with sub-200 magic on my friends list) and I have nearly enough ore to make a shining splendour and will try for a second. Glad to hear you got Vaan, he's not as pretty as Celes but he's very handy. I pulled CoD on the new banner, so another physical heavyweight to add to my list.

So, thanks to a certain sombody's Kefka I now have enough cavern ore for 2 Shining Splendour swords. (Don't get me wrong, I can do it with my characters... Barely... Most of the time) Debating whether to get enough for a third (I doubt I have enough patience to farm that much wood.)

Not really, considering I have quite a few people on my list with 400+ ATK units with Barrage, some of them 500+. Amoebozoa I can usually take out in one turn, the giants usually 3-4 turns each. I didn't do many runs of it today, and I think I'm about 26 or so ore short of having enough for two. Still need quite a bit of lumber just to get the other prerequisite swords for one though. But hey, with all the Earth Shrine runs I've been doing, I should have a Ribbon tomorrow (fusing three Kefkas together. I'll have two more to get another later, one of them being a draw from this banner), and a single Shantotto at 40% (and I might give her the Trust Moogle from the festival).

As for drawing on the current banner, my luck has kinda hated me. 3 Golden Crystals so far, all of them CRAP CHARACTERS. If the next banner is Lightning/Charlotte/Ludmille, I'm going to stop doing the 1/2 price daily draws. Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow morning what'll be going on this next weekend.

If Luck won't be a Lightning with me, I should still be drawing enough to pretty much guarantee best healer TMR and best 5* tank. With Charlotte tanking, Leo would go back to top attacker over Firion.

And hopefully I'll be able to start on my first Shining Splendor (perfect for Charlotte too, since it has a slight DEF boost) tonight, though it wouldn't be ready for me to grab until Saturday morning.

Well, an 11-unit pull, a half pull, and 5 ticket pulls... primary mission accomplished anyways-

Three Ludmilles and one Charlotte. Perfect. More Ludmilles, but few Charlottes.

Also had some other good luck with the pulls. Good (but would be better if I didn't have him already) pull with another Vaan, a fourth Shantotto (and now I think I'm going to pair my Shantottos and fuse them at appropriate Trust levels), and... Zidane. Guess who's getting my next few All-Trust Moogles?

I'll probably still draw daily half-price every day I can on this one.

Just drew Terra today. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what I can do with her that Tellah probably can't do better. I can bench her until she gets her 6* form, which won't be for a long time.

Enchanted Maze is awkward, but good for EXP/energy rates, and you can take a weak Trust team in there without fear of getting killed, it's all token enemies that you capture.

Man, you really seem to be getting lucky. That's three different 4* base characters now? And even if Chizuru goes out of style eventually, her TMR won't. Hell, with her TMR, I could really do something awesome with Firion once he goes 6*. I just try to imagine it now: Firion, Dual Wielding, Mercedes's Axe in one hand activating his +30% ATK boost, and Genji Blade in the other hand activating his +20% ATK/+10% DEF boost AND Chizuru's +50% ATK boost.
... But it'll most likely be Gungnir in one hand (+30% ATK) and Enhancer in the other (+20% ATK/+10% DEF).

And I just picked up my fourth Ludmille today. I'm just glad it's not Charlotte I'm getting multiples of.

Final Fantasy TACTICS event announced for this weekend (starting tomorrow, actually). I'm going to guess the event will last two weeks, and they've announced the first banner- Delita (5-6*), Gaffgarion (4-5*), and Alma (3-5*).

All three of them have great TMRs. Not so sure what I can say about the units themselves though, compared to others of the same rank. Gaffgarion I might be able to put to use with Barrage, (future) Gungnir, and (future) Dual Wield based on his stats alone, but he has a pretty lousy ability set. Alma can't equip weapons, doesn't have Cheer (making her healing/support worse than Lenna), but has Ultima in her skillset. Delita... well, he has Barrage by default, good debuffing attacks (not as good as Fullbreak though) and a better version of Focus. Keep in mind though, he's probably on the lower end of 5*-base character rankings in the long run, or 6* characters period.

Rewards for the event include a nice fire Katana (yay you with Chizuru. But then, you also have Miyuki, don't you? Meaning you could get Sakurafubuki for your Chizuru instead?)

Anyways, weekend after next should have the banner with Ramza, Agrias, and Mustadio. Again, all of them have great TMRs, not so sure about their ability lineups.

EDIT: Well, I've been through the full event at this point. It can be very easy IF you have a full mage team with high enough MAG. I'm literally using 4 casters (Golbez, Tellah, 2 Kefka) and Celes, plus another caster from friend list. Having all 6 of them Blizzaga their way through the Elite stage, up until the boss, where Celes will use Focus instead. It's all about proper use of Elemental Chain- make sure your weakest casts first, then go down the characters in the order of increasing MAG. Even the ELT boss fight goes down in one turn with this setup. Be careful though, if you can't manage to beat them in one go, they could very well take you out just as quickly.
This is pretty much the format events will be in the most: collect an item from quests you spam over and over, and give the items to the Mog King. It'll get better in the future though, with banner characters giving you bonuses to the event item (3*-base = +50%, 4*-base = +75%, 5*-base = +100%), as well as sometimes having "secret enemies" that give tremendous amounts of the event item.

EDIT AGAIN: After going through a talk of just how "easy" ELT is, I get killed. If you run a mage team, you HAVE to run the elemental chaining properly, or you could end up leaving the wrong enemy not dead (*coughLOFFREYcough*).

Yes, mage teams do tend to be a bit squishy.

I've hit up ELT once or twice, but have mostly just been farming PRO for the auracite shards.
Got Gaffgarion and Alma in the 250 daily pulls.
Forging the Katana now (TM for Miyuki still a while off) and have the shield and some summon tix.
Haven't grabbed any of the 6* materials as I figure thay'll be around from other events an none of my characters can go to 6* yet.

I have everything I want from the reward list (equipment, quartz, tickets), so I've gone back to farming other stuff for a bit. Got Gaffgarion and 2 Almas.

I've been wondering whether I should bother leveling up Gaffgarion to take over for Leo, but I just realized that might be a waste, because just a little bit longer (1-3 weeks), and someone I already have will suddenly become top attacker in my roster: Kain. And with it being that far away, while still close, I should have a Gungnir by the time he gets his 5* upgrade.

Also gotta wonder if Mustadio might be worth investing leveling effort into if I draw him in the next banner. I decided to get the Killer Bow today in anticipation. Mustadio has a decent ATK, and one particular attack skill that is a bit of a gamble- A multi-hit attack that attacks random enemies anywhere between 1 and 6 times, 100% damage per hit. That's pretty much a 66% chance of having an attack that is as good as or better than Barrage, but it could flop on you at the worst time.
Agrias is definitely something to desire if you can get her. Full Break, good stats, and a Barrage-like ability- slightly less damage, hits (x3, random single target) have chance of causing confusion. I'd definitely replace Vaan with her in my main party, though Vaan does have an advantage over her if you use a mage-oriented party.

I was really starting to get worried this past week, since the last update screwed with how the game runs on the NOX emulator. That's scary, considering iOS and Android versions don't save lapis between them, and most of my lapis was on the Android emulator. Tonight, I've switched to MEmu, and it looks like I'm back in business.

With the Cactuar Dunes, this update screwing over NOX, and the current Tactics event going on, I never did finish up my first Gungnir and MAG+30%. Who knows, maybe that'll happen tomorrow.

Confirmed: This weekend will start the FFIV event.
Dark Knight Cecil, Rosa, and Edge introduced.
Paladin Cecil, Kain, and Rydia awaken further.
Paladin Cecil becomes the best tank for the rest of the goddamn game.
Kain fights for the position of best 5* attacker. I'm fairly certain he'll rival Fencer, and Chizuru might remain best due to her TMR.
Rydia... learns Meteor naturally, that's about all I can say.

Look for Lilith Rod (MAG +60) and Dark Helm (good DEF, very nice ATK for a Helm) in The Giant of Babil.

I'm sure the Halloween UI has been noticed at this point.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!

Data has been mined for an event that we either get exclusively, or run at the same time as JP. A Halloween event, with special Halloween Units:

- Demon Rain (5-6*)
- Vampire Lasswell (5-6*)
- White Witch Fina (4-6*)
- Black Cat Lid (3-5*)

And no, it won't be a waste to get these guys. Their story versions not having TMRs means nothing here, they are limited-time event units with their own TMRs drawn from the summoning pool. Also, it's very possible they'll have an event-unique bonus, in which having them in your party will increase the event currency dropped in battle. The event currency for this one will likely be Candy Corn, and it should pretty much play out like Orbonne Monastery Vaults (maybe without the Explorations). >_>

I'm expecting it to arrive next week Friday, during the second week of Giant of Babel. That shouldn't cause any problems, as Giant of Babel is an "Exploration Challenge" that you don't need to farm in order to get the rewards, just beat each exploration once and you get everything you need. Good luck getting Elite level done though, that stuff looks HARD; however, it doesn't have a unique reward, just a Trust Moogle (still VERY nice, but not unique, unlike something like Lilith Rod in the PRO Exploration).

Anyways, I recently drew Artemios. My first natural Barrage user. Haven't been that excited about it though. Despite that, I still went after Brachiosaur and got the Killer Bow for him. Working on leveling both him and my new 5* Kain (the IV-character awakenings went into effect today). Once Kain is maxed, he'll likely be heading to my Companion slot, he's already got some pretty high ATK (241) for someone not even at level 40 yet with what I have on him. Well on his way to replacing Leo in my party.

I got lucky while using tickets from the last event. I got myself Paladin Cecil. Sure he's only 3 star right now but he'll get better. I've also gotten 3 star Mustadio and 3 star Vaan so that's some good offensive and support material for the future.

I just got a Paladin Cecil myself. It'll be a while before anyone else sees him though, because he's the kind of unit you want to level up the Limit Burst for. At the very least, I want to see about maxing out his 3* LB, level 10. Maybe even try for 4* level 15 after that. I DEFINITELY don't have the patience to max it out at 5*, so for that, I'd probably need some really good Burst Pot tokens (better than the Minis we've seen thus far) that I'd unfortunately use on him after he's awakened to 6*.
But for reference, his 6* LB increases the party's DEF, SPR, and now ATK. 50% increases to them at level 1 LB, 74% at level 25. If we can assume each level is about 1%, I'd most definitely invest in LB while he's at 3* and it's a low cost.

Also, I cleared Giant of Babel ELT. Mostly due to a superpowered Lightning on my friend list, though Kain is not to be underestimated; hell, the way his Jumps work is part of the reason my clearing run went so well. I'm a little under halfway to getting Zidane's Dual Wield, and then Kain might REALLY start getting fun. As far as single-target damage goes, some people might say Kain rivals even Lightning the better the gear gets.
Golbez at the end though, you have to pray with all your might that his Shadow Dragon attack doesn't kill your whole party instantly, or pretty much everyone that you need alive the most.

Anyways, definitely hoping some Burst Pots will be available during the Halloween event.

If I remember right Limit Bursts gain experience when you use them. But the gain rate has always been so slow I've never really paid too much attention to it. You would have to be really hard core to spend the necessary effort to level it up. I also happen to have a superpowered Lightning on my list that let me clear ELT on the Orbonne Monastery. I have Kain but I'm unsure of making use of him when I currently have a 5 star Chizuru.

Yeah, that's how it works. However, the cost to level up a Limit Burst goes up every rank.

Anyways, for reference, I was holding onto 4 Mini Burst Pots that I dumped into Cecil. It was enough points to take him to level 2. He's at level 3 now, and if I keep him going enough as he is, he should be at 4 tomorrow. Going by JP version though, there should be plenty of options for faster LB leveling later on. A Mini Burst Pot gives 100 points. The next level of Burst Pot gives 3000 points, and a third gives 10000 points. That second level I hear was made available in a higher NRG-cost version of the Labyrinth.

It appears I may have been mistaken about one thing regarding the Halloween heroes- Black Cat Lid is actually pretty damn good, with the appropriate gear, with her "Ultimate Blow." Get some Romandan Pistols for her if you have Mustadio units, and the exclusive ATK/MAG boosting materia from the shop (23k Candy Corn each), and you have a really nice attacker. Despite this, I'm probably still not going to go after her, gotta save up my lapis. I hear we might be getting a really nice bundle at New Years: 3x 5* Summoning tickets (meaning guaranteed rainbow crystal), ATK+30% materia, and a full set of Golden equipment. For 10k lapis (so it's POSSIBLE to get it without spending real money). I want to believe that this will be around the time of Lanzelt Ruins Exploration Challenge event, and if that's true, it could mean that this would EXTREMELY improve my chances at getting You-Know-Who...

Also, my hopes just got dashed for the FFXI event in JP. The characters are on a regular summoning banner, rather than a raid summoning system like the XIV event. So getting Prishe would come down to major luck or lots of spending.

And another thing- Taiwanese team confirms that the Water Land (Ordelion? Part 1) chapter starts next Friday.

Part 2 warning:

As well as getting the Great Daemon trial, where we can earn Wizard Rod (better than Lilith Rod). So got that going on, and Pumpking Knight PRO showing up, where it's assumed we'll earn the Death Scythe (70-ish ATK spear, AOE Drain ability) upon clearing, no idea if it'll be optimal for Candy Corn farming, but who cares, when just farming Pumpkin Rider ADV can cover the entire shop.

Haven't had a lot of time recently , but managed to get enough candy corn to get Cecil to 6 Stars (Pulled him at 5* as mysecond 5* pull (After Miyuki) so not going to try leveling his LB).
Nice work pulling Artemios, he's pretty cool.
Cool that the new content is coming along so quickly, the story isn't great, but it's not terrible either, so happy to follow along.
