What game are you playing/looking towards?

So it's Kasumi and Phase 4 as the Yatterman duo, and Momiji as Majo(hair color threw me off). Male costumes are actually pretty cool this time around too.

But yeah, got unstuck in Shantae, friend gave me some false info about being able to get a warp squid, so I was mostly playing Triforce Heroes. Got to the frozen zone while making as much outfits as much as possible. I am worried about getting those ones that require friendship tokens... I think those are only when you play with someone locally, and I'm not sure if you can get multiple from the same person on different sessions...

The newest Super Robot Wars Original Generation games has been announced. It's called the Moon Dwellers & will be for PS3 & PS4. It's supposed to be 3rd Super Robot Wars Original Generation but they dropped the number because they thought it would turn away buyers.

I not a fan of Nintendo's handling teen-mature games recently... Mostly their removing of features from ill informed outcry of people who aren't going to play the game... or for no reason they care to inform anyone about... That's all I can say without blowing my top...

More progress in Triforce Heroes... even though my friend still hasn't started play it... so that's a lonely trek... Fun, but still... I should find a game that allows me to play by myself... I got stuck in Shanate again... the next area has these bits with ramps leading down to them that the moment you touch you slide to your death... So that's no fun...

Considering what was 'censored' from Fates, I'm still buying and enjoying my Collector's Edition. The stuff that was taken out was frankly utterly superfluous to the gameplay, which is what I care about most with the games proper. It's very unlikely that the removed sections would satisfy my perverse desires to any extent anyhow; better to let fanart do that, and with some of these character designs, I'm banking on the Internet delivering plenty there.

And then of course there's the whole Soleil thing... That character trope of "oh women are so beautiful, but I'm still straight" that the japanese love so much... Which of course was mistaken in the west for "gay conversion" even though you couldn't romance her as a female in the first place(regrettably) as ALL of her possible romantic partners are male. So what did Nintendo do? I don't know, they didn't say besides they removed some "dialog" and no one has bothered to report on it since. For all I know they could of removed her "weakness" for pretty girls. So yeah, just because Nintendo of America said they would handle it no one has bothered to look and see what they did going "Oh we don't care anymore". LAZY CONTROVERSY STIRRING PARASITES

Eh, I know of at least two people on another forum who weren't going to buy Fates until that stuff got cut off. So there's an audience to draw, which should make up for the ones who got driven off by the nickel & diming.

As for the Tomahawk whitewashing... when the one Native representation is a Fantasy Indian whose role in the plot is to get killed by the heroes and have her attire appropriated? Yes, you whitewash that stuff.

I could use the lazy argument of she's not a native american because this game doesn't take place on earth or have a america in it, thus freeing this character from all our dark history to be her own character, but that's not satisfying...

So you are saying they should remove the Native "American" representation completely and turn the diverse individual into a white and southern cowgirl...  Thus replacing the Native "American" with the race that helped wipe them out.  That is the better solution for this? A pity too, as I heard that quite a few native americans were looking forward to their fantasy representation, one that is sorely underrepresented.  However I don't have a direct source for that, but I can't find a source saying the opposite either...  

Anyway, point is, politically correctness has been used and turned into a fear based weapon wielded by those who "get offended for others" more often than not, and this has consequences on the gaming industry as a whole.

I'm in agreement with you on this, Rainday.  The levels of censorship that are taking place borderline on the absurd, and political correctness has gotten so bad that comedians who have gotten some fame are now avoiding college campuses due to the fear of someone taking offense and filing a complaint or civil suit against them or the college.  Satire and creative license shouldn't be stifled because someone got salty.  Once controversial issues have their language controlled, or certain people are not allowed to discuss or critique groups, you're delving into the realm of tyranny.

We're in Orwellian times, and have been since at least when Woodrow Wilson was president.  I'm of the opinion that speech, debate, and criticism should be unrestricted, save for the individual taking responsibility for their words and owning up to what they say.  At least this way I know who's bigoted from who's making legitimate criticism or satirizing a group or issue.

Anyway, done with my political philosophizing. Knowing what's happened with FE: Fates, I'm not going to bother getting the game. Vote with your wallet if you dislike the direction something is being taken in. Nintendo will likely get the message if enough people don't bother getting the game.

The whole thing was stupid waifu/husbando bait to begin with. That said I dislike the idea of translators fucking with what the actual developers made in any way other than making the text readable.

Regardless I ended up deciding not to buy it after getting generally bored with the series and seeing how much it would cost to actually buy.

No word on the change to That One Support and how they handled that, but it looks like 'Minimum necessary to avoid seeming utterly creepy to a general audience' is the rule of the day for this one.

(Still wish that they'd just restricted the breast slider in Xenoblade Chronicles X, rather than killed it entirely. )

So What Was Missing from the Nintendo of America? Adorable nervous little sister reacting to your petting with various facial expressions and lines not in the western release. Why does this annoy me, it seems so small and it's only around 50 seconds(per character(/per session depending if the dialog changes)). Well, it's because each character reacts in their own way to being petted that gives you a more intimate understanding of them... And you're not really spending time with them... Just flashing through it. Also during the event you can look them over, the scroll option still appears to be there, you just don't have much time it seems...

However, I did notice one thing that ACTUALLY explain why it was removed.

Basically a few light moans, but I'm sure in NOA's eyes it was nightmare fuel of people's kids getting seduced by the virtual characters... Or they were afraid the touching someone's face would be "creepy" to a western audience... I guess... Nintendo of America won't say... I mean, Feel the Magic XY/XX as well as Senran Kagura got away scot-free with worse... But those weren't published by Nintendo of America... and other than a few rumblings on tumblr I heard of petting being "weird" I didn't hear anyone protest about it on the level of Soliel or the two gay/bi characters being "offensive stereotypes"(people complaining Zero/Niles was a full on "sadist" while Syalla/Rhajat was "detestable") ... Thankfully that second one never got any traction with NOA...

It's nice that the affection mechanic is still in, but it's still a bunch of bullshit to me. But at least we finally have a clear picture, thank you Nightington for this.

Still have yet to hear about how they "gentrified" Soliel... and unless they made her actually gay I don't want to.

An unfortunate turn for Senran Kagura: Estival Versus-

- Ikkitousen characters will not be available outside of the Japanese version. Playing against said characters (Japanese versus rest of world?) will re-skin those characters from your viewpoint. Unfortunately, licensing the use of these characters over here was not a feasible task, but unlike censorship, this can't be blamed on the devs or the localizers. Ayane (Dead or Alive) will still be coming (and I assumed as much, that TecmoKoei would be much more reasonable in this regard).

Yeah, I just saw that too. And a nice looking Shiva set for Casters. I would definitely assume one of the yet to be shown sets to be the Tremor Armor of Fending (Titan for Tanks).

Probably. All three of the "unrevealed" sets can be seen in the trailer, but not very well. The tanks look to be wearing something brown but without the glowing yellow lines i'd expect from Titan gear.

What is the 1st FFVI reference? Also: RELEASE THE FIEND!!!
