Rumble Roses (F/F MC EC)

I'm actually pretty surprised that this didn't already have a topic given what it's about, but I really enjoy the game so I might as well try my hand at a sighting for it. First time at this, so it might not be the most well made thing.

Alright so the basic idea behind Rumble Roses is that the entire cast, composed entirely of female wrestlers, has face (good) and heel (bad) versions. While there are a few characters where they don't really change much alignment wise regardless of version (Benikage is good in both versions, while Lady X and Anesthesia are bad in both versions), most of the characters follow this rule. And while a few of the heel forms are simply just evil/dirty fighter versions of the original version like Aisha and Makoto, the majority of them are extremely fetishy. Also depending on the story mode they can get to this form for different reasons but let's hold off on that for a moment. I couldn't find a video of just the intro for the Heel story modes so I'll just be putting in the monologue from them. Let's go down the list-

Reiko Hinomoto/Rowdy Reiko

"A long time has passed since I debuted in the country where my mom died. I never found out what happened to my sister, and one rough match after another made me into the woman I am now. Even back in Japan, nobody gave a damn about me... Until I found the Road Warriors. They're all people with nowhere to go, just like me. Society tossed them away like sacks of garbage, but they're the only ones who cared. Now, I'm their leader and damn proud of it."

Also going by Queen Cobra, we go from fairly standard main character to sexy biker gang leader, with that official art of her implying that the gang is made up entirely of sexy biker babes too. Not only that, but that sister she was searching for was enslaved by the villain of the game and works for her so this story is of the protagonist trying to rescue her sister from corruption, failing and ending up turning evil as well.

Here we go from sexy teacher to full on dominatrix with another fun story of trying to save someone and ending up corrupted yourself. Basically Miss Spencer was the teacher of one of the heel characters of the game, Candy Cane ( https://imgur.com/a/AuqaG ), and entered the wrestling stuff to try and get her back to school and back to normal. But in Mistress Spencer's story mode Candy is in her face form Becky ( https://imgur.com/a/E2lgH ) and mentions how Spencer saved her from this life, which means that Miss Spencer actually did succeed in helping Becky like in her story mode only to fall to the temptations of the ring herself and become even more addicted to this life than Candy had ever been.

So Aigle's kind of dumb, which is a shame because I really love her heel design. But her fall to being a villain is a really simple one of succumbing to the temptation of cheap tricks for power. One of her main specials involves her using hidden gas in her hat to stun her opponent, but it wouldn't be hard to imagine the gas doing more than simply stunning the foe.

Dixie Clements/Sergent Clements

"...I'm a cop now. I'm out to teach the public a lesson... As a police woman, I'm the good guy, no matter what I do. I'm gonna lock up everyone who rubs me the wrong way! You better be careful! I don't care who you are, if you cross me, you do time."

This one is a pretty fun concept, unlike the other girls who commit fouls and fall into becoming fighters who don't play by the rules, Dixie decides to become who corrupt cop who makes the rules whatever she desires them to be.

Makoto Aihara/The Black Belt Demon

There's a pretty good exchance in her story mode that describes her personality shift well-
Reiko: Makoto! What happened to you, you've changed...
BBD: Though I'd go for the sexy look. Something nice for your funeral!
Despite having the standard reasons for turning heel, Makoto really hams up her villainous persona once she does turn heel. Talking about how evil and twisted she is, giving out frequent mocking laughter, it's pretty great.

Aisha/Showbiz (Sista A)

"Seems like a long time ago that I was Aisha, the immortal dancing queen. My CD sales plunged to nothing just cause I bent the rules a little. Now I'm just a washed up dancer. I used to be world famous. But I'm gonna keep dancin'. I'll never forget the feeling of eyes on me while dancin' up on stage. The spotlight, the bumpin' rhythm, the calls, the stares. That's all I need. That's why I came to dance on this stage. Wanna bump with me? I'll take you to heaven.

Pretty basic stuff here too, character breaks the rules, ends up at a low point and decides to embrace their darker side. Showbiz lewdly dancing as she crushes her opponents with dirty tricks is pretty fun though, and as Aisha has a rivarly with Dixie so too does Showbiz have a rivalry with Sergent Clements.

And then you finally get to the villain of the game, Anasthesia. She's your standard sexy evil doctor type and like I said earlier she doesn't really have a heel or face form since both versions of her are evil. Technically she has a "heel" form called Dr. Cutter but she doesn't act differently at all. Her thing is performing experiments on the other wrestlers, mainly to enslave them and turn them into her minions. Reiko's sister Noble Rose being the most important example of this as she starts the game already corrupted as Evil Rose.

But this also gets me to what I was saying earlier with the multiple ways of getting to the heel form. While in their own heel stories it is revealed how they got to where they were in their opening monologue, in other stories they may end up in heel form due to being experimented on by Anasthesia. In both cases they have the tattoo that marks them as Anasthesia's servant but I think that might have just been laziness, those are never really explained. Or perhaps you could argue that in their stories after falling so low they were much more ready to turn to Anasthesia for help and willingly got experimented on offscreen for more power. Either way, the heel forms sometimes show up as fights right before you deal with the villain and her super cyborg, with the rival character of the one you are using having their emotions manipulated by Anasthesia to corrupt them into this form (Aigle and Makoto in each other's story mode). One costume in the second Rumble Roses implies that Anasthesia might actually be an alien, but that game doesn't have a story mode so no confirmation on anything in it. Also having a weird alternate form is Evil Rose, who has a mutant demon looking form implying that Anasthesia got some heavier experimentation done on her ( https://imgur.com/a/7omw2 ). But again, nothing confirmed.

One other thing is that Anathesia's main big plan is the creation of Lady X, an cyborg super wrestler using the dna of Kamikaze Rose, the deceased mother of Reiko and Evil Rose. Her "Face" version in a suit, while her heel version in both games is an exposed more robotic look. In the original it is called Lady X Substance, and in XX she's Lady X Subsistence and is even more mechanical. I believe these names are Metal Gear Solid references as well, specifically to the rereleases of MGS2 and 3. This is not only a Konami game, but Rumble Roses characters were even usable in Metal Gear Online ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us4HFcX7Uhg ).

Alternate versions of the characters unfortunately have gimped stories, with only and intro and rival fight cutscenes, but at least it's better than the second game with it's complete lack of story.

They are usually sexy, and both Judgment and Noble Rose even got a theme by Castlevania's Michiru Yamane!

I always get worried a miss something when I do stuff like this, especially when there is a lot to cover, but hopefully this covers everything important.

I talked about Anesthesia up above, but there were a few things I forgot. Like I said before her big goal is the creation of Lady X, but the reason she manipulates the Rumble Rose tournament is to find strong wrestlers to use for Lady X along with generally experimenting on all of them. In Benikage's story mode every character who is usually a face that you battle is in fully brainwashed heel form and is under Anesthesia's control. In Cutter's story mode it is also mentioned that Anesthesia plans to turn Reiko and her sister into the second and third generations of Lady X so sexy robotification is implied as well.

Benikage meanwhile is kind of the nemesis to Anesthesia despite being a heel as well, messing up her plans and in Anesthesia's story mode causing Lady X to go out of control (Leading to Dr. Cutter's story). Since she's already a heel no corruption hits her, but I definitely think her face form looks lovely. Instead of it being corruption, Judgment is the version of her who left her ninja order after defying the will of her current owner Anesthesia, who gained her contract during Benikage's story mode.

I'm going to give this a read tonight and give you a good reply tomorrow, but what you have here looks pretty amazing dood =)

Yeah, one of the major problems I had when I wanted to start this was finding footage of the heels story mode, and then there is the large amount of characters to boot.  I'm so glad you did it dood, what you got is golden, nicely detailed, and great. On a side note, wow some of this voice acting is rough.

I do like the running theme that while most of the heel became good, all the faces turned heel after their battles it seems(especially with Reiko and Miss Spencer), possibly after a little experimentation from Anesthesia.  Showbiz was the one that most interested me I think, pop idol to a sexy and sinister dancing girl who lives only for the dance and all the eyes drawn to her, I really dig that philosophy. Course Anesthesia's story mode is pretty great.  Just imaging her giving them some anesthesia that makes them to weak to struggle why appling mind alter chemicals with a little drugged brainwashing thrown in(that matches their heel speeches), as well as some triggers to make them ache to be a good girl for her or nurses in general, followed by marking them as a heel. Dr. Cutter also has a robotization angle. Benikage's story mode really shows that these girls are brainwashed, especially Rowdy Reiko.  I wonder, if Evil Rose didn't intervene, would Benikage's honor force her to obey Anesthesia, even willing brainwashing herself?  After all "The master must decide what is best for the dog." but then again she defies Dr. Cutter... Killer Khan is cute though =)

The only thing that's really missing I feel is pics of Anaesthesia in both her form and her little explanation as to why she is doing this since she is the head villainess.  Also while technically Benikage is "good", her story is pretty important to the whole brainwashing setup, so mentioning her along with throwing in a pic of her in her lovely fishnet leotard would be nice =) (That being said, I wish she got caught with snooping around Anaesthesia and got truly brainwashed). But yeah, no need to worry dood, forgetting happens all the time, especially with things that require a lot of work.  I tend to always go back and edit some of my sightings the day after because I remember things right before I go to sleep the previous day.

Yeah, the voice acting is definitely low budget PS2 tier. The sequel has an entirely different voice cast full of more well known actresses like Michelle Ruff as Reiko, Wendee Lee as Anasthesia, etc. And yeah there were a few things that slipped my mind like how Dr. Cutter's story mentions how she plans to turn Reiko and Noble Rose into the second and third generations of Lady X, with her story ending having them defeated and helpless to stop her. Shame we don't get to see them turned into her cyborg servants. Good idea on talking about Benikage's story though. Even if the character herself doesn't get brainwashed, most others do.

Damn that sounds like a much improved voice cast, which makes it suck all the more that they dropped the story mode from it. Haven't seen that Judgement pic before, very nice kunoichi outfits her former clan has. Add it Anesthesia's naughty nurses and that could make for one hell of a sexy gang of behind the scenes helpers for Anesthesia's ploy...


Now all Anesthesia needs to do sneak into the DOA by switching places with Lisa and turn all the girls into heels with her heels(corrupted RR character or literally stepping on them her her heel(which she seems to love to do a lot) marks them with the evil heel mark).
