For some enemies, yeah, it's pretty stacked against the players, but at the same time a lot of them do need stronger abilities I feel because you have an unknown number of players fighting against them, with the exception of some which scale with the number of players. Which additionally makes it tough because you don't have the advantage that normal DMs in tabletop games have, which is the ability to constantly test against the same party over and over to see what has a good chance of killing them, and what doesn't.

Couple of things I'll be trying out in the next battle.
X-Ability / Spellbook Exhaustion
Using X-Ability drops your maximum Willpower by 5.
Using a Spellbook ability increases the caster's Charm Counter by 5 - this includes turns channeling the spell and not just the final cast.
These stack so using X-Ability to use 2 Spellbook abilities in a turn will drop your max Will by 5 and then add 10 Charm Counters.
Quickcast Nerf
Quickcast only affects Spells with a cast time of 4 turns and above
EX Turns
Instead of how I usually calculate turns, extra turns from Speed is determined by rolling a dice - higher Speed gives you a higher chance of gaining an extra turn. The extra rounds are placed at the end of the round.
(This will probably end up being a lot more luck-based, but it saves me a lot of trouble with calculations.)
Global Items + New Inventory
Instead of individual items, there will be a pool which everyone will share. The items list will be different.
I might be using my variant spellbook with some tweaks to update it to Willpower change.

Quickcast nurf will be coming soon as i can get on my computer for longer then 5 mins to change everything

Preparing for a new fight - the next fight will likely have the most reserved posts due to how many changes I'm implementing for that one.
I'm looking for around 7-8 players, which after the auto-conversion abilities will make it a 3 vs. 5/6 fight. If there's not enough then I'll probably allow people to play multiple characters if they want to (or have to fill up some of the slots on my own)
I suggest having a physical character handy, if you haven't got around to creating one.

Ah, nice. I wanted in in that.
So, these rules include being able to use other's created characters, right? I believe I read that, I just wanted to confirm. Otherwise, I only have Lulu, and I'd have to rush to make a melee focused character. I have one or two in mind, but I don't want to have to rush and make errors.

While I'm not particularly interested in joining this battle, I did update Xiaomu and Reiji in case someone else wants to use them (keep in mind that they are designed to work together as a team, and would not perform nearly as well on their own. Reiji lacks mobility, and Xiaomu has sub-par offensive power).

Actually, to clear things up - casters aren't being restricted or anything in the next battle, but there's going to be a battle gimmick that only characters with high Strength and Stamina will be able to really use, so it's to your advantage to have a fighter character in reserve if you want to play around with it. Casters will still be valuable due to their support options and damage (and I need testers for the nerfs anyway)
Plus I'm probably not going to run the battle until a week later so there's plenty of time.

Ah. If that's the case, I'll reserve Lulu for the fight as DPS. I'll still try making a new character, but I'm fairly busy with work, so if it's not ready in time, I can still participate

Outside of all the new rules, this fight also uses my Revamped Magic as usual, which has been updated for the new Willpower system so be sure to check it out if you're a White Mage (outside of that, Fira's Oil status was nerfed).
The Life spells has had an overhaul which I'm actually a bit iffy on how powerful it can potentially be so I might change it before the battle starts.

Ah, this place is super quiet. Normally I'd ask for a small "trial fight" to learn the ropes, but it doesn't seem like anyone's been around for a few weeks. Blame the time of year, I guess.
Still, if one or two people are relatively available, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a shout. In an ideal world, a relatively fair fight would make a great introduction.

...'fair' is kinda difficult to achieve with this system, and the way my last battle turned out combined with the latest 'update' rather soured the game for me, but I suppose I might give another whirl if you just want to get a feel for it... Maybe something low leveled against just two-three heroes/heroines will have better flow... I dunno.

) i did recently update all the card templates though! and there are still small changes i want to make to balance the game abit more.
